Mr Alan Johnson - President of the IFAC - in his speech addressed to the Accountants Association in Poland (AAP) authorities and members on the occasion of the 115 Anniversary underlined that:
- The accountant of the future will need to perform new roles, often with advisory responsibilities rather than exclusively technical ones.
- He emphasized technology issues such as the digitalization of audit, the blockchain, and the decentralization of digital tools that are on the horizon of the profession and that cannot be neglected.
- He encouraged Polish accountants to step into advisory roles for smaller businesses.
- In addition he expressed the need to be open to cooperation with the public sector.Mr Alan Johnson thanked every AAP member, past and present, for the work to build a strong accountancy profession in Poland.
