Mr Alan Johnson - President of the IFAC - in his speech addressed to the Accountants Association in Poland (AAP) authorities and members on the occasion of the 115 Anniversary underlined that:

  1. The accountant of the future will need to perform new roles, often with advisory responsibilities rather than exclusively technical ones.
  2. He emphasized technology issues such as the digitalization of audit, the blockchain, and the decentralization of digital tools that are on the horizon of the profession and that cannot be neglected.
  3. He encouraged Polish accountants to step into advisory roles for smaller businesses.
  4. In addition he expressed the need to be open to cooperation with the public sector.Mr Alan Johnson thanked every AAP member, past and present, for the work to build a strong accountancy profession in Poland.
