On 27 July 2018, the Accountants Association in Poland hosted a delegation from the Shanghai Municipal Audit Bureau. During the meeting, Franciszek Wala, President of the Main Board, presented the history, objectives and activities of the AAP, especially as regards to education and ethics, and characterized the membership of the Association. This presentation was followed by the subject of internal audit in public sector, which was especially interesting for the Chinese delegation. Professor Ewa Hellich, Secretary of the AAP Research Council, discussed the issue of internal audit from the academic perspective and touched upon the definition of public sector.
Grażyna Urbaniak, member of the AAP Ethics Commission, described the evolution of legislation regarding public sector audit, audit committees and different obligations connected with audit in different public sector entities. Marian Mońka, member of the AAP Ethics Commission, presented practical aspects of public sector audit based on his experience in the Polish Academy of Sciences and as an auditor of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
The representatives of the Chinese delegation underlined the significance of ethics in their work and asked detailed questions concerning AAP activities, relations with the Polish Chamber of Statutory Auditors and legislative solutions in the scope of audit of budgetary entities. In the end of the meeting, they invited the AAP authorities to Shanghai.
