On May 11, 2016 the Accountants Association in Poland’s Regional Branch in Warsaw held a meeting with the Ukrainian academics: Natalia Tsaruk, PhD – Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Nizhyn, Uliana Marchuk, PhD – lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of the National University of Agriculture in Vinnitsa and Serhiy Zabolotny, PhD – from the Faculty of Economics of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW).
AAP was represented by Jerzy Koniecki – Vice President of the Main Board and the President of the Regional Branch in Warsaw, Anna Socha – Vice President of the Regional Branch in Warsaw and Paweł Przedpełski – Office Director. The meeting was also attended by Dorota Wyczółkowska - Head of the International Relations Department of AAP.
In the first part of the meeting President Jerzy Koniecki presented the organizational structure of the Association, its major activities and tasks carried out for the benefit of the members of the Association and accounting society in Poland. He emphasized the flagship achievements of the Association including its own system of professional certification, the establishment of the Code of Professional Ethics in Accounting and promoting the principles contained therein. He also pointed to the importance of the new professional titles awarded by the Association - a Certified Accounting Services Expert and a Certified Specialist in Providing Accounting and Tax Services – filling the gap left by the deregulation by the Ministry of Finance of the ministerial certificate to provide bookkeeping services to third parties.
In the second part of the meeting the guests asked the questions, among others, about the possibility of cooperation with AAP, including training students from Ukraine, for example in the framework of distance learning or on-site lectures, issuance of certificates confirming skills in accounting to people from Ukraine (valued as the EU document), participation in courses of agricultural accounting organized under the auspices of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the Accountants Association in Poland as well as the opportunities for the Ukrainian scientists to publish their articles in the “Theoretical Journal of Accounting" – a scientific periodical of AAP. It was decided that further cooperation will be agreed upon by the parties during the subsequent bilateral contacts.
