The Accountants  Association of in Poland (SKwP) stands as the exclusive professional organization in Poland uniting individuals engaged in the accounting profession and related fields. With a network of 25 autonomous regional branches, SKwP operates as a voluntary membership organization. Its members include both individuals (ordinary members) and companies (supporting members).

Established in 1907, SKwP is dedicated to advancing education in accounting and upholding a high standard of professional competence and ethical conduct among its members.

The primary objectives of the Association encompass:

  • providing educational initiatives to prepare individuals for the accounting profession, promoting professional standards,
  • fostering good practices and ethical principles within the accounting community,
  • operating with a commitment to the public interest, and
  • organizing and conducting educational courses and training for individuals seeking to acquire professional accounting competencies or enhance existing skills. SKwP grants professional certificates across four distinct levels of professional competency.

A dedicated team of experts within SKwP is responsible for formulating legal opinions on legal acts put forth by the government.

The Association publishes a monthly industry magazine, "Accountancy," available in both print and online formats.

The structure of SKwP includes a Scientific Council responsible for initiating and conducting research in the realms of science and practice, particularly in accounting and finance. Additionally, the council organizes competitions focusing on ethics and accounting.

SKwP also publishes a scientific journal titled "Theoretical Journals of Accounting," edited by a group of scholars affiliated with the Scientific Council.

Since 1989, SKwP has held the status of an ordinary member within the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
